Dr. Rachel Croson earned her bachelor’s degree in economics and philosophy of science from the University of Pennsylvania and her master’s and doctoral degrees in economics from Harvard University. She served as a tenure-track and tenured faculty at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania for 13 years, before moving to UT Dallas as a Professor and the Director of The Negotiations Center. During her time at UT Dallas she took a two-year leave to serve as the National Science Foundation’s division director for Social and Economic Sciences, managing a $100 million annual budget and eight programs. She began her current position as Dean of the College of Business at UT Arlington in January, 2013. In her service activities, Croson has served on the board of the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession, where she was pivotal in developing and running mentoring workshops aimed at female junior faculty.
